Steve Smith has over 30 years’ experience in training needs analysis and development of mechanical and electrical training courses which include competence-based assessments for domestic and industrial gas fired process plant.
During this time Steve have been extensively involved at national level with the Health and Safety Executive, CORGI, Gas Safe Register and OFTEC in developing and operating competence schemes for industry. Experienced in making strategic decisions and developing strategies which have a significant business impact.
For the past 27 years he has managed certification bodies which are accredited by UKAS to issue certificates of competence to both gas and oil engineers.
Full working knowledge of ISO/BS/EN 17024 standard and other safety requirements; the way that they interact with industry with an ability to resolve issues taking account of the interaction between standards and the way the industry operates at a practical level.
Steve has a wealth of knowledge and experience and holds various mechanical and electrical qualifications and both IOSH and NEBOSH General Health and Safety Certificates along with NVQ Level 5 in Training Standards and Strategy and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management.
